Its an android... she's from a video game (Xenosaga as tagged above) and as I've seen she can mateirialize wepons... so she could probably accomodate both females and males seperatly and together!

KOS-MOS (and the other Xenosaga characters) don’t “materialize” weapons. They have packs of nanomachines that instantly reconstruct their weapons on command, and then deconstruct those weapons after battle.
