Anyone else feel a little uncomfortable knowing that this was and may still be canon, albeit one-sided with Kari having feelings for Tai, but most likely not vice versa? I mean, fanon is fine, but even when in comparison to something like Pokémon’s popularity, digimon was still mainstream. That’s not even mentioning the fact that it’s definitely making a comeback. So, anyone feel weird about the fact that this is still potentially canon. I mean, this is quite literally the even more severe version of what made the second arc of Sword Art Online as cringe as it was.

It's not remotely canon, but I wish it was. It's something that shouldn't be so frowned upon, love is love.
