This should acually work in any modern Browser.
Maybe you blocked some scripts or your browser-version is too old?

There's also the part where it takes a pretty good amount of time before it starts moving at all. The first portion of the animation is completely static. It takes a good 4 seconds for there to be any change at all, and 6 for there to be any movement most people are likely to notice on the first pass.

Oh, and and that's AFTER it has finished loading. The majority of network connections globally are still painfully slow.
