Decades later and it still feels relevant and ahead of the current time. And they gave the directorial duties to a western adaptation to the guy who did Snow White with Twilight girl? Don’t even bother looking at the screenplay writers either. Clearly Hollywood doesn’t care about the material or foreign media except for the money it can make off of the established fanbase. I mean they struggle with video game adaptations still so I don’t get who thinks they can tackle something made with different ideals, philosophies and sensibilities behind it.
