Contrary to Man of Steel and Injustice, Supes is a good guy and would refrain from killing.

And then Saitama comes along and one shots Superman. The End.

I can't blame Goku for killing most of the villains. I mean they go from town destroyer, city destroyer, planet destroyer, and galaxy destroyer. It's not like from DC and Marvel where they have a plot device to seal away a vilian from another dimension. I mean Dragon ball has those galactic police men, but they hardly ever helped out the planets when people really needed them.

I mean, you got Mafuba, Dragon Balls, magic and dimensions and stuff. I think the issue with Dragon Ball is the characters don’t really use their power creatively. I mean Bulma had at one point come up with a plan to stop the androids and Dr. Gero but was dismissed because they wanted to train and fight. That’s how most problems are tackled, a battle between the strongest good guy and the big bad of the week. Most skills in Goku’s repertoire were learned or copied by others Kamehameha, Spirit Bomb, Instant Transmission, Kaioken. With all his power, battle experience, wisdom and resources he hasn’t created or developed a signature technique of his own like a Roshi or Piccolo or solved a problem by thinking out of the box really.

Essentially unless you have any potential to become a redeemable good guy down the line or don’t register as viable threat, you’re a powerful simplistic evil guy who needs to die because the good guys don’t really think too hard about all the different ways they might be able to stop you.

Coming back as the 2333297 anonymous.

You're right with the creative techniques. The characters in Dragon ball z and super often used attacks similar to the kamehameha wave and other techniques. Super tries to do this a bit differently, but still remains the same of using bigger energy beams. Take a show call One piece for example, there are characters that uses different techniques that represents their battle styles. Going from characters like Sanji, where he only uses his feet to fight his enemies. Even though that the main character is faster and stronger then Sanji, his skills at using his legs are far more superior. Goku has a handful of techniques but Sanji has almost a bucket full of techniques, and we haven't seen the rest of them. And even though that Sanji's attacks are base on kicks, it is possible to think that creating different techniques for energy beams is easier and more effective. But Sanji's techniques can go from kicking an enemy very fast, which can be used to pull off a finishing blow. Setting himself on fire, which increases his strength for a while, and adding a burn effect to the enemy. And having the ability to almost fly in the air, which helps create a better advantage towards a flying enemy and a grounded enemy.

Goku: I do not care if only 50% of his power is used I'll do the "Kaioken" for 20 "Kame Hame Haaaa" I remember that "epic"

Seriously? This all still? Jeez... Look, it's apples and oranges. It's like trying to compare and contrast Gigantor to Gundam just because "big robots and lasers, pew pew!".

Honestly, why even?

Goku is a martial artists. He is not meant to be - nor does he pretend to be - some kind of savior to mankind or whatever. No disrespect to Supes or his fanbase. Love the guy. But they just aren't trying to tell the same tale. It's not about "copying" moves. Those were his mentors. He learned from them, and if you're fan enough to be here and complain than I'd like to think you know enough to remember he expanded on nearly every technique he learned and made them his own.

Kamehameha? Shot it with his damn feet! Kaio-ken? He eventually mixed it with SSJB, for the first time, while in the middle of a fight! Spirit Bomb? He drew energy from beyond the Planet Namek, and managed to use it while even in SSJ! Speaking of, both he and Gohan were the first to reduce its toll on the body, and make it a nearly casual power-up for added benefit.

It's easy to treat Goku like he's some form of copycat when you run off of others' opinions, such as jaded fans or TFS (bless their little hearts), but it's just a weak stance. Funny, but weak. Goku does heroic deeds, but he's not in it for that. None of the fighters of Earth really are, save Gohan during his GS phase.

The fate of the world may be at stake, but for a warrior, if you have to rely on cheap cop outs to get it done, the next time a real threat comes along, where will you be then? Pushing those limits and facing those fights is the only way to improve. Taking the easy way out would turn them all into Yamcha, sooner or later. They aren't Superman. They don't all mighty power just from existing under the right conditions - not to say that's all he's about. It's just not the same kind of situations because they aren't the same story, even if they both can boil down to guys hitting each other.

Having more techniques isn't the only form of strength, either. A man who masters a single kick after training it 10,000 times is worth more fear and respect than one who studies 10,000 kicks but masters none of them. Sanji is awesome though, again, no hate. My point is that Goku is a phenom because he masters what he sees and learns, and goes well beyond expectations. That is why Super kept (annoyingly) trying to beat home how he goes beyond limitations. But people don't always want to hear it. They want Goku to be something he isn't. And I just don't get it. Those other stories? Let them be just that.

Goku and Co. have their own tale, and if you love it, great. If you don't, then it's probably not for you and you should go enjoy things that are. Goku's villains and story isn't trying to be what you love, and I guess I just love it for being what it wants to be the best way it can be: A cooky, campy, sometimes heartfelt martial arts anime that has survived decades with a character that knows what it is and - for better or worse - doesn't need to change too greatly in order to kick some ass and show us a good time.

If you're looking for more out of Dragon Ball... well fuck... good luck I guess.
