It's because she's dispersing her weight with four limbs (her arms and legs) and he's only using two (his feet). Also, he's fat.

Most of her weight would also still be on her legs, and then it would be dispersed over most of her lower legs.

How his feet sank in is sort weird. That they sank in and her didn't is not.
