I always kind of thought that the Saiyans being a brutish warrior race sort of just fought, ate and banged as they pleased sort of like Barbarians. Maybe outside of the Elites and Royal families, they didn’t really care about marriage, partners or parentage and simply valued strength because it allowed you to move up in the world above the low borns. But apparently they had similar ideas and values as us earthlings on pairing off and romance and shit, go figure.

What are you talking about? They don't have human values about it. Almost no Saiyans have any concept of love or romance at all, even familial love is relatively unknown. Platonic bonds are the only ones they care for.

Saying "Elites and Royal families" is also redundant; royalty are the only elites, everyone else is either Low-class or Mid-class.
