Hilma is actually a deeper character than people realize. They misinterpret her love for Ainz as some sort of mind break. In reality, Ainz took away her fear of him, by showing her compassion. Even chiding Albedo for her sake. Her fear came from a lack of understanding. She realized at that moment, that the Supreme leader is a rational being, who isnt motivated by emotions, like lesser kings. And that realization was such a weight off her shoulders that she swelled with gratitude. As long as she follows his rules, she will be safe and protected. He actually put the pieces of her mind back together, by pulling her out of the pit of her despair that developed from living with fear and anxiety. Giving her a clarity and purpose that she had lacked in her previous life as a crime boss. A life of hollow self gratification surplanted by a life dedicated to the gratification of another.
