Is there an alternate reality in DB where the power scaling isn’t totally insane, there isn’t a bunch of transformations and the fights are still relatively martial arts based? I wish there was a series about that world. Maybe Yamcha can actually still do something in a world like that.

Yamcha kept Bulma from getting stepped on by a giant ape form Goku. He also helped make newer characters look tough and like a viable threat. If you don’t think that’s an important role than you’re basically mocking Vegeta’s entire career.
