Without the noose she can simply let herself fall over to get off the treadmill, so the noose keeps her upright and in place.

they could easily do a body harness with some rope to keep her in place and upright, the noose was just plain tacky.

And the question I'd ask is wouldn't walking the treadmil make her stay at place, so therefore her crotch doesn't actually get rubbed at all like it's supposed to?

Due the the irregular nature of running she'd probably wouldn't stay completely still against the rope and there would probably be a bit of friction, but I agree that the treadmill crotch rope combo seems pretty useless here.
