It's an untranslateable(ish) pun. She says she got some new pants but he thinks she means panties(Same word), so he asks her to show them to him. She agrees and shows him "Short pants"(not panties). So he asks again to see her "pants"(Panties), and they both end the conversation confused, as they're thinking about the wrong pants.
