Well, to me it seems like she was trying to rescue her pegasus but unwittingly walked into an ambush. It would explain the small rooms, plethora of chains, and why despite that she's still armed. My guess as to the motive behind this would be the enemy recognizing the value of taking such a high ranking and skilled soldier as Tana captive for the sake of pressing her for information that only someone like her would be privy to, and perhaps after that manipulating her to switch sides.
But that's just my thoughts. I had written as much before but the mods thought it was too "fanfictiony". Hopefully this format is more suitable....
