I like that she lets her hair loose like that now whereas Kitana usually has it tied or done up in some way. It makes Mileena seem wild and free in comparison. Also Kitana looks more like a princess in contrast but you could also take it as her being more controlled and disciplined as a fighter as well as confined and shackled like a prisoner to her would be father and situation.

I don’t know if that is at all intentional subtext in their designs but it’d be pretty brilliant if it was.
