Tomoyo was pushing her toward other people from the very first episode. She never had the courage to say anything, so hid behind the whole "push her toward someone who's supposedly better" thing. I like to think after Sakura's supposed true love said "I feel the same way... now I'm back off to Hong Kong, seeya!" Tomoyo wised up, toughed up, made her move, and she and Sakura will live happily ever after.
