They really should just call the series the Goku show or chronicles or something. Ain’t no one or nothing else in this story even matters or is taken seriously anymore anyway. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is probably the most jones title they’ve made.

Toriyama loves showing how strooooong Goku is, how everyone is nothing next to him. Always has, always will, and will always gladly throw every notion of any concenctious story out the window the instant Goku needs to be reaffirmed as the stwongest oh mai gawd hes so stwwwwooonnnggg. Dragonball has never had good, or hell even acceptable, writing but now it has just devolved into "holy shit look how big Goku's dick is this week".

I think the main recurring problem in this series is that characters are only introduced with the intention to serve a purpose and once they serve that purpose, they are essentially useless. Villains like Raditz or King Cold despite having lots of story potential are just there to do a thing and die never to be mentioned or heard from again. The problem is that with good guys, death doesn’t permanently affect them so without real purpose they just stand there and take up space.

Krillin might have a better deal than Yamcha, Tien and especially Chiaotzu what with the wife, child and Toriyama handjobs but he still will never have any real importance or impact on the story again. You could just as easily have Popo stand there handing out Senzu Beans and baldie would be out of a job.

Personally, I’d love a Dragon Ball Z Chiaotzu game where you blow yourself up, get brought back and than do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the rest of your meaningless existence. He’s not even good enough to just stand there and watch from the sidelines anymore.
