4chan assholes were like 'let's tell tHe MeDiA the OK sign is a white power symbol!!!' as if saying it meant someone would have to report it.

Then a bunch of white supremacists threw the OK sign while taking photos with neo-Nazis like David Duke and Richard Spencer.

So that hand gesture became an actual common element for bigots hanging out with other bigots... and the dumb bastards still think people noticing is some kind of trick they pulled.

Once upon a time, the swastika was a Hindu good-luck symbol.

More specificially, an upside-down "okay" symbol is considered the offensive one. This is not new behavior, however.

The V-fingers "peace" sign thing is basically the same as flipping someone the middle finger if you do it holding the back of your hand facing outward. The actual V "peace" sign is when you do it with back of your hand facing yourself (that's why the peace sign in anime is always done this way, never with the back of the hand facing outward).
