It’s kind of surprising that after all this time, people still consider this to be incest. I know that the Yeagers took her in and let her live with them but was she ever officially and legally adopted? Eren even keeps telling her off that he’s not her little brother. Although it’s not an outright declaration or reminder of them not being related and more of him telling her to stop trying to control him, she doesn’t seem to rebut or argue semantics about how they are legally siblings at any point in order to set him straight and she also repeatedly says ‘your’ mother as opposed to ‘our’.

But I guess it puts a little pep in someone’s step to imagine them as related when they bang. Whatever floats your boat.
