It actually would’ve been nice to see them grow as a couple before married life or at least settle some more before Gohan came to being. I mean Goku probably spent more time with Suno which kinda begs the question why they saddled him with Chi-Chi of all people. Is it too much to ask for people to actually like seeing them together so that they can root for them to end up with each other? It was essentially an arranged marriage except he was young and had no parents to arrange it and the girl he met once way back will be his partner for the rest of his existence.

In many ways I think the writing for the series has gotten worse overtime but at least the romances has gotten a smidge better kind of.
