I sometimes forget how many of Goku’s friends were just straight up bad guys or kind of scummy.
Roshi would definitely be a registered sex offender or be on a list somewhere or something if he didn’t live as a hermit completely isolated from society. It does feel like the army and police are pretty useless and that the bad guys can just run around, go about their business and live happy and fulfilling lives though. It’s kind of comforting to know that you won’t really be punished or held accountable for any wrong you’ve done and even the people’s champion is a liar and a fraud. Sure there is an afterlife where you can be judged but even hell don’t look that bad to be honest.
Dragon Ball is literally the best world to be the shittiest person you can be and I want to live there even if it means the earth and moon gets blown up every year.

The world of Dragon Ball is not very well thought out or fleshed out. People still aren’t sure if triclops is actually human or not and he’s been around for a while. It’s just bad writing is all, they come up with and introduce ideas and don’t really think or dwell on it. Earth knows that aliens exist right? Some came down, wrecked a city, a news crew and the military and we have no idea how the government reacts, thinks or handles this information. But somehow you’ve got Mr. Satan dismissing everything Cell does as a trick and the stupid masses just believe him. But the series is about people punching their problems away so whatever.
