Watching the show, Tanya actually came off as ACE to many, maybe he naively meant we shouldn't sexualize an asexual.

Or maybe they meant she was pure evil like the show wants me to believe despite the fact all the good things she does vastly outnumber evil acts... and the "evil" acts are more pragmatic than actually cruel most of the time.

Tanya isn't an ACE. Hell she's female in this life because her/ his response to Being X accusing him of having lustful thoughts basically amounted to "I'm a guy." In the books and manga anyway. Sexuality is rarely discussed in the books to begin with and was completely absent from the anime. There is a scene in the 5th book where Tanya's words cause her subordinates to say she just confessed her love for Visha, who had just left after saying after saying she "loves and respects" Tanya. Tanya dismisses this saying she'd prefer to be single for now and internally noting how she'd have to chose between being physically or mentally homosexual.
