Nah. Metroid may be a japanese franchise, but it's more American at this point.

Ah, fond memories of Haloid...
Should skip ahead to them making out.

@HomeStruck
Samus, in her suit, is 6 foot 3 inches, however, she is shorter outside of her suit. In Smash Ultimate, it says Samus is 5 foot 9.

Master Chief, however, is 7 feet tall, outside of his suit. Tack on a few inches for suit height.

So yeah, Samus is going to be shorter.

Gotta love that language barrier.

@HomeStruck: Metroid was inspired by "Alien", an American sci-fi horror film franchise created by Ridley Scott. There has always been an American influence in Metroid. Why the divisiveness?

Wrong. Samus was originally 6'3 outside of the suit, but the Japanese retconned that to 5'9. Just like in Other M they turned Samus into a weak-willed little girl who had a panic attack just from seeing an enemy she had already fought multiple, in contrast to her previous badass self. Because Sakamoto is a sexist dipshit who only wants Samus to be the stereotypical Japanese woman, and hated what she was like in the Prime games. Naturally, that didn't do so well in America.

Ironic consider Metroid was never really popular in Japan, it was in the U.S. however. Know your audience.

Did Samus have an actual personality in the games before?

@QAiizx
I would argue yes, but a lot of it is expressed through actions, her notes, the occasional bit of text from fusion.
