Spongebob is both an adult and a kid. He goes to work as well as school, admittedly it's a driving (boating) school but portrayed more like an elementary school = kid.

Bah, who cares. Great looking artwork. Spongebob looks gay and childlike just as he looks/acts in the show. Patrick should've been shirtless and a bit fatter with a side order of dumb looking. His hair looks too smart for him.

Though Spongebob does have a job and goes to a boating school, those are really stereotypically teenage things- working at a fast-food restraunt and learning to drive. Though judging from how many times he failed boating school, and how long he had worked as a frycook he should be around 20 by now.
