Apparently the Kaminoans' advanced knowledge regarding genetics were put to a completely different use, as Obi-Wan was forced to be the test subject for their new 'chromosome shift' procedure. He--or rather she, now--would leave the planet forever changed. And a romance as unlikely as the Star Wars franchise ever being good again materialized...
