I LOVE flag print two-pieces and this is a fascinating design. I would have the right cup (her right) just be stars but they have approached it differently.

And there's the bottoms which don't even have any white in them.

It's not how I would have thought to do it but that just makes it cuter. I love that the Star-Spangled Banner continues to be a popular design choice even in my country, the one the US had to fight for independence from.

If you're not familiar with Kantai Collection, all the girls are actually ships. This girl's based on the USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73), which was the only US aircraft carrier sunk during WWII. That's why she has the American-flag design on her bikini.

Definitely a neat take on the bikini though, I like it too.

*cracks knuckles*

I'm gonna let my inner nerd rage here just a little bit laura but Gambier Bay was not by far the only US carrier to be sunk in WWII. Not even close.

The US lost a total of 12 Fleet/Light and Escort (baby) carriers in WWII.

Fleet/Light carriers: USS Lexington (CV-2), USS Yorktown (CV-5), USS Wasp (CV-7), USS Hornet (CV-8) and USS Princeton (CVL-23)

Escort Carriers: USS Block Island (CVE-21), USS Liscome Bay (CVE-56), USS St. Lo (CVE-63), USS Gambier Bay (hi) (CVE-73), USS Ommaney Bay (CVE-79), and USS Bismarck Sea (CVE-95)

During the Battle of Midway indeed the US only had 3 Fleet carriers; the Yorktown, Enterprise, and Hornet. The Yorktown was sunk (along with the Sims-class destroyer Hammann (DD-412)) and the Japanese lost Akagi, Kaga, Hiryuu, and Soryuu. It was only after the Battle of Midway that the US started crapping out Carriers left and right.
