Maybe because dark elves kind of embody what we want to see in elves? They’re regarded as this pure and beautiful entity but are subjected to rape pretty regularly because there’s an subconscious satisfaction in sullying them and dark elves are kind of treated as those impure outcasts beneath high elves while still being levels beyond most beings. Or it could just be that seeing a tanner looking elf is sexy.

Honestly, who knows? Not everyone wonders why exactly something works for them. Some are just simply satisfied in knowing that it does.
