I'm surprised that there's not more art of Shingyoku, considering that he is a male chaacter who has actually appeared in a Touhou game. (He's the first boss of the first game)

You just answered yourself. Check ALL the characters from 1-5 (the ones who have not returned and who are not mima and shinki), there's very little of them.

As the first boss of the first game, he should be pretty memorable as the first obstacle Touhou fans have run into.

I remember hearing on an Ace Attorney page or video that the first criminal or whatever (Frank Sahwit) in the first case of the first game was pretty memorable to people. :?

I guess for the Windows era though that would be Rumia. :p
