Personally, I think it's fine to love manga/anime at any age. But the cosplaying should stop earlier on though.
In a few years it's gonna be tough for that kid to explain to her friends why her parents are dressed like the newest gundam leads or whatever.

M-D: Why should her parent or parents stop being interesting people, and drop some of their interests (read: cosplaying, not anime) just because their daughter might (read: might, not will) have difficulty explaining that her parents like anime and are expressive of this fact?
Seems a little silly. I mean, my parents used to play MMOs, but that wasn't too hard for me to explain to anyone... and for that matter, I never actually had to explain it, I just decided to because hey, my parents play MMOs.
Same with this. Her parents probably don't go around cosplaying everywhere, but only at conventions. I'm pretty sure the only person who'd stumble into them are likely an anime fan themselves, who probably wouldn't find it too strange.
Of course, my last two paragraphs only deal with the difficulty of explaining that your parents cosplay (which probably isn't very difficult, I mean think of all the other things they could be interested in in comparison!). I still don't see any reason why they'd stop even if their daughter had such a difficulty.
