@eragon
Not anon2 but I think it's because she never really fully interacts with him and in a sense she doesn't play the helpless princess. She did this to save her people expecting a hero to come along, but it was freewill... not capture. Since he spends all his time with Midna, seems foolish that they develop feelings for the other in Twilight Princess.

Sure, it CAN make sense. Note the emphasis on the word can.

Zelda = fairy tail. Social standing doesn't need to have any bearing. Also, if you want play the social status card, it's possible that Link's social standing could have been elevated from commoner to hero at the end of TP.

True, but I'd like to think that Link went back to Hyrule Castle to become a soldier or something like that (where there'd be plenty of time to interact with Zelda and become her sex toy :D). After all, he was thrown into the life of a hero, and I very much doubt he's going to go to settle down in Ordon because of that, so that bars out Ilia. Midna's long gone because of the shattered mirror. So that leaves two options: him going back to Hyrule Castle or him setting out on some new adventure (which I believe would be the most likely situation). Anywho, there's not enough evidence for anyone to corroborate any "definite" pairing theories or anything like that.
I could go on and on, but my point is that he could have very well ended up with any one of them, the writing was vague and open-ended as to allow the player to form their own theories as to what could have gone on. Link is an extension of me in Hyrule, and I'd like to believe that the knight in shinning (er green) armor gets the princess at the end of the tale.
Also, TP ZELDA IS TEH HAWTNESS!!111!! What kind of a man would Link be if he didn't want to tap 'dat shit?
