To this day I wonder, would a suppressor have worked for the G11? Could they have made a suppressor for it if a normal one wouldn't work?

Propellant is propellant even if it is in block form so I'd image a normal suppressor would work.

You'd have to find a way to drastically reduce the muzzle velocity of the G11's caseless ammunition though, at 930m/s thats a little under Mach 3 those bullets are flying at. Also brassed ammunition tends to absorb a lot of the heat of the explosion so a pure propellent based projectile would likely not be good for any suppressor as it would eat all the heat.

I know OSS Suppressors use a sort of "maze" of multiple tubes to slow down and cool off the air before it escapes their suppressor. The thing did amazingly well in torture tests, outperforming the standard SOCOM suppressors and going well past the point where the SOCOM ones turned red hot and melted. They did so well the U.S. military is buying OSS Suppressors to replace the SOCOM ones.

I think a suppressor made with that same concept with the G11's lack of heat transfer to the ammo in mind could work.

Adding to it, Vox uses C300 Nickel Cobalt Maraging Alloy when making their suppressors, which is a heavily controlled alloy used on NASA's rockets to launch a spacecraft, so heat resistance is insane. And another company, Delta P, managed to 3D print a suppressor for M2 Browning which get barrel melting hot real fast. Also uses space age metals used for rockets.

I just think technology has progressed enough since the 90s that if we can suppress a barrel melter like a .50 BMG heavy machine gun then we can figure out how to suppress a caseless assault rifle.
