@2807573 it helps more than standing out in the open, but less than other options. I'd recommend checking out earthquake readiness. Never know it might be useful. Could be visiting an area that's prone, or could just be a random time your area gets hit (or even a powerful one elsewhere that could be felt in your area). Many reasons it could be useful to know.
