The hate came from the complete turn around in direction.
The two animations that came as a demo for the full thing were of a willing, skillful, and enthusiastic slut who genuinely enjoyed extracting the seed of her lovers. There was not one thing to suggest it would turn into a gang-rape, so when people excitedly switched on the next animation, they were pissed.
The same way people get triggered by stumbling across poorly-tagged posts containing things they painstakingly avoid/blacklist. As an example, cheating/netorare because it turns otherwise sensible people into foaming rage monsters with murderous thoughts.
