If you look at it, it's got the body of a salamander, so it's a salamander. The Andrias Japonicus(Japanese Giant Salamander) can reach 5ft long and the Andrias Davidianus(Chinese Giant Salamander) can reach 6ft long, so some species of salamander can get bigger than that.
