Low Level Slimes that can't control their acidity contents very well, yes it could eat away at, things. They kinda have the same digestive procedures As Starfish, That is they release acid when they need to(at will/on demand/command) to digest & Consume Shellfish as soon as they pry them open; the shell itself can be seen as the stomach wall holding the contents of the acid while the Starfish absorbs the insides through the use of its own anatomy. Thats to say, Digestion happens Externally while Absorption of Nutrients happens Externally To Internally.
In the case of Slimes, this can happen Either Externally or Internally, depends on the substance and how easy it is for them to absorb it. Needless to say, they don't need use/produce their acidic digestive attributes to absorb mens Ejac(That is why they have, 'Other means' to extract that substance). Therefore, it's fairly safe to 'splash around' with them. Safer IF they are higher levels and have no mal intentions to harm you during or afterwards that is.

If your serious, according to what I heard, you can only safely engage nonstop activity such as you are describing for a max of 3.5-4 hours due to a technicality involving the death of spongy tissue caused by trauma and reduction of Oxygen Flow. Ts what I heard at least, Don't know for certain though.
Zogar has teh right Idea :). There are other means to accomplish a desired task, should there be an obstacle present in the first place ;).

And for the Record, they don't really bitch at all. Worst case scenario under extreme conditions, they'll just eat you & not in the good way(You'll be digested by Malicious actions).
