Agreed unborn. Gold ins't anywhere near Red's standards. As far as the story games go, I believe red was training for 3 years while Gold was running around with pokemon he's had for maybe one. This wouldn't even be a contest as even with legendary pokemon Gold would probably still lose.

Red is a badass among others, but you have to give Gold that victory as the better trainer. He beat everybody and in a less amount of time than Red did. That's saying something.

I think Red is epic on a level beyond description, but I think Lugia is slightly more epic. I think Gold would win only because of Lugia.
