The wind in the cold discard room of the "Defective" and "re-called" toys blew silently through the barred window.
A lone Haunter slipped through the room seeing a Poke-doll that had been carelessly discarded it's stuffing ripped to shreds, and full of a child's sticky mess of candy and other junk.
The Haunter laughed at it's evil idea it had just gotten, for the fact that this doll was abandoned the humans would pay for what they had done to it. Just as the ghost Pokemon was once discarded by it's trainer like this doll it would then show the world what it meant to feel the true evil and revenge of being abandoned.
The Haunter fused it's Nightmare attack with the tattered doll and possessed the doll as it's own evil toy.
And thus Banette was born
