cavad, what you say is true, but what I meant was "Ash has the mind of a child (i.e. innocent of sexual matters) in this series of cartoons". Sorry I wasn't more clear before.

Ash is pretty much locked at being a ten year old, psychologically, for the show to appeal to that age range. He's gotten somewhat physically older, arguably... that could just be art shift though.

According to the show, Ash is ten years old at the start of his journey. If you assume each 'game' takes about a year, that makes him 11 at the end of the Kanto seasons, 12 at the end of Johto.

Now I don't know about you, but by the age of ten, I was already interested in girls (or at least sneaking peeks at their underwear on the playground), and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Face it, Ash is either gay, stupid, a nonsexual, or some combination of the above. End of lecture.

Um, well sigma13, as most children are not like you, I would go with "nonsexual". This series is aimed at little kids, so obv the main character has to be relatable or they can't pull the whole "merchandise driven" bit. And there has been official material stating that Ash is age-locked anyway (at 10), making this an example of Comic Book Time. So in the end, who gives a damn? The supposedly 10-yr-old girls (May and Dawn, for example) look like fuckin' TEENAGERS for cryin' out loud.

What? ... really? No one gets that this is supposed to be a joke? It has nothing to do with him being gay, it's implying both that he's an idiot, and isn't able to discern who is a woman unless they have hueg hooters. If anything, the objectification this implies towards women means that he's straighter than every single person here right now.
