It's sad because Prussia was the only German state to tell the Nazis to GTFO and didn't elect them to power. Also, he was the only German state in the Weimar period to build up a stable, functioning democracy; much better than Germany as a whole and Austria (who went fascist in 1930 or so). That's why Hitler and Goering overthrew the Prussian state government in 1932 after taking power.
If Germany and his allies like Italy and Hungary listened to Prussia instead of the Nazis (AKA an Austrian surrounded by Bavarians), then tens of millions of lives might never have been cut short and Eastern Europe never subjected to Soviet domination...

Thank you for that tidbit of history..... But you do realize that there were many Nazi soldiers who were only following orders because that didn't want their families subjected to poor living and possibly even death.
I'm only saying this because my family is originally from Germany and I feel for all the people who did live this way over in Nazi Germany. (They immigrated over in the 1850s)

Thank you for that tidbit of history..... But you do realize that there were many Nazi soldiers who were only following orders because that didn't want their families subjected to poor living and possibly even death.
I'm only saying this because my family is originally from Germany and I feel for all the people who did live this way over in Nazi Germany. (They immigrated over in the 1850s)
