According to DLsite (website where you can officially buy this game) the latest update is on August 2022, so this game isn't abandoned at all

This game just got updated into ver4.0.6 this month (January 25, 2023), you can buy it on the DLsite from the author themselves. So the creator doesn't actually kill this project, you just didn't do a research
