This is old as fuck but i wanna point out that fighting the first two had a purpose, with Firion was to get to know him better and with Terra she was at that moment overloaded with her power so Cloud basically offered himself as a way for her to "let stream out" (lewd). With Sephiroth? Cloud was so fucking done with him at that point, as he put it "fighting you has no purpose", then Sephiroth pulled out Firion's rose suggesting he had done something to him, giving Cloud a reason to fight.
