HK G11/K1 (1986)

In 1970, the West German Ministry of Defense listed a standard as a design requirement for this revolutionary infantry combat weapon, which it hoped would improve the individual combat capabilities of West German soldiers. HK company alone took the lead. From 1974 to 1981, a total of 13 experimental models were developed, and the No. 14 prototype gun in 1982 had reached the level that it could be delivered to the troops for field trials. This gun uses a unique revolving bolt action, with single-shot, high-speed 3-shot and low-speed fully automatic shooting modes. 50 rounds polymer magazine for ammunition, caliber 4.7x33mm DM11 caseless ammunition. It was officially designated as G11 (G11K1) by the West German army in 1986, and trial production began in March 1987.
