Yeah. The thing is, while this series is almost shockingly well-written for a hentai - with a decently interesting plot and themes - the torture porn, rape, and general suffering in it is a bit hard to take. It was this scene that proved they could've gone a completely different direction and made it feel rewarding rather than making it feel like I needed to bathe in sulfuric acid afterwards. Just think what it would be like if it were simply him freeing members of tribes for their sake and earning their gratitude like he did with Setsuna.

@spencerspitdog sooo a generic and blank white knight mc?That's what you want from this story despite 90% of anime having exactly the same boring and overused nonexistent characterization for the protagonist??Yeah hard pass on that,go watch some my hero or other disney obsessed anime where it's about "finding love and not fighting war"

@kdrayton33: That's incredibly reductionist. If all it take for two characters to qualify as "exactly the same" is that they're both heroes, then by your own logic, everything is generic. Villains, chaotic neutrals, characters who don't understand morality at all... It's all been done.
