For the Iran part,
I assume the artist only knows about the government funded gender conversion therapy.
I find it amusing though since it has ALOT more darker implications.
The reason for the therapy is because they view gay people as a problem/sin.
So they force anyone who is gay to convert to the other gender. So they can keep some semblance of a "Straight relationship".
If you refuse then the other option is possible execution.
