It's an old Japanese myth that a bare-breasted young woman holds up the world. When young men that she fancies pass by she trembles and that causes earthquakes. One day will pass by the man she wants to marry and at that point she will drop the world.
There are many temples throughout Japan where the devout go to pray that he never passes by.
