To be fair, the intro is kinda blatent about the outcome of it all. Not even remotely subtle with the MC staring up at the corpo tower and a shot between the eyes. That however was like 99.5% the garentied outcome from the start anyway, the point was always the little things with people along the way. And the Punk action, that is dope too.

funnily enough, there has been a spoiler about David's death in the game since day one since there is a drink at the afterlife called the David Martines and the only way to gate a drink named after you is to die a legend.
