The people celebrating this aren't talking about it, they're just hiding behind the "if you don't like you're a transphobe" and false reporting users. Bridget is terrible trans representation tbh.

You don't write a character who was always stated to be a boy, one who keeps reassuring others they're a boy, only to reveal they were actually written as a transgender girl the entire time. It's extremely strange that people seem to buy the "Bridget was always trans" statement said by the creator. It's completely false. You don't write a character who was always stated to be a boy, one who keeps reassuring others they're a boy, only to reveal they were actually written as a transgender girl the entire time. I firmly believe Bridget being trans was a 2022 retcon due to pressure from outsiders and to follow current global trends.

The comic is talking about bottom surgery, so it should be tagged as transgender by default. There's no more obvious indication than that.

But blatantly contradicting everything he said in the past, expecting me to believe he even knew what "trans" meant in 2002? Yeah that just makes it too obvious. Going to guess that since it's more politically correct to have a trans character than a "trap", the company just forced it on the game (along with other retcons for other characters for similar reasons). Now that they're facing backlash over it in Japan, they're trying to deny claims that it was all done out of pressure, but I don't see people buying this story.
Sadly we might just never see Bridget again as they might avoid doing anything with them due to potential PR issues.
