I would've accepted this as a the ending. Lives out his entire life as the strongest Spiral entity. Then finally underneath the stars he blinks away his final moment and finds himself in a massive field of flowers. Then as his eyes adjust to the light, a shadow is cast over him and it closes with him giving a small smile.
