Does anyone else notice that the pikachu with the bow is, according to nintendo, a boy? Or was this done before the whole "distinguishing genders by slight body modifications" era?

IIRC, the artist said she didn't like the female Pikachu's heart tail, so she drew a male tail instead.

In the Pokemon manga, there were female Pikachu drawn before the gender differences.
