Silver is afraid that the Totodile will grow up to become Gatorface.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Gatorface was the name of Totodile given to the player (Kris) in a Let's Play of Pokemon Crystal. Gatorface quickly proved itself to be bloodthirsty monster by:

* Biting Kris' head and latching on upon first meeting her (this and other incidents would show Prof. Elm to be an asshole).
* Slaughtering Pidgies, Hoppips, and a Sentret, the last of which it tore the face off and anally violated.
* Maiming Silver's Chikorita.
* After being dropped off at the player's mother's house, it ate her Azurill, as well as Kyle from next door.
* It is also implied to have murdered an entire orphanage.

If I were Totodile, I'd do the same thing. Her hand is obviously up his ass in panel two and he acted accordingly.
