There's lots of pointless censoring but what i dont really get how the censoring thing works, i see many different kinds of censorship, sometimes brutal like pixelation and other times pointless like this one, but no matter what i dont think any of them make the pic less offensive

censorship's job is to make it annoying to view the image. There are two camps of censors. One camp likes to totally destroy an image by completely rendering parts of it incoherent. The other camp sees the fact that the image as a whole might be considered art and as such put little lines and such to make it annoying to look at the sensitive bits. Problem is that its all pointless cause here we are still looking at the images no matter how censored they are.

You know what's worse than censorship??

The people that complain about it on every pic and make that redundant sarcastic remark about they are glad that the censor is there or they would have been offended. Things are done differently in some parts of the world. Although some things other countries do may not make sense, people need to deal with it or fuck off, because in the end you're still looking at it.

Aaaaaactually guys, it's a law, you know. Japanese artists are required to censor at least 6% of the exhibited genitalia or they can be sued/go to jail or something like that. Some artists censor JUST the right amount for their porn to be legal, and other ones are assholes who pixelate everything and make fapping impossible. Be glad that these nice artists who make their censor bars still leave the image fappable exist.

Animated hentai generally uses the mosaics because it's much cheaper on the budget and easier on the deadline to throw a computer-generated mosaic on a part of the screen than to go frame-by-frame and add in tiny little precise censors on top of a full animation which started out uncensored.

Also, published work tends to be more heavily-censored than self-published work on H mangas and other static artwork, in part because publishing companies will tend to add in censoring in the editing department.
