"Boy" and "girl" are words with multiple definitions. Bridget is in one sense a boy (sex) and in another sense a girl (gender).

@pajamafox For descriptions of biological sex, you use typically "male" or "female", not "boy" or "girl" as the later terms are more accurately descriptive of one's gender identity.

@DumDum_Lori The meaning of a word is derived from how groups of people use the word. "Male" and "female" are used pretty much exclusively in reference to biological sex. But "boy" and "girl" are used differently by different groups. A big portion of the population literally doesn't even believe in gender stuff, and those people are legitimately, actually talking about your body when they say "boy" or "girl". They'd be wrong to assume that's the only definition of the terms, but you'd also be wrong in assuming that the word is only in reference to gender.
